What is actually going into your pension?

Put your scheme percentages side by side with the employer contribution and an explicit tax-relief assumption. Nothing is saved or submitted.

Use your scheme figures

Estimated annual pension input

£2,880

8.0% of the pensionable pay entered

Your gross contribution
£1,800
Employer contribution
£1,080
Illustrative tax relief
£360
Illustrative take-home cost
£1,440

Your payslip may differ. Net pay, relief at source and salary sacrifice work differently; National Insurance, adjusted income, annual allowance, tapering and benefit interactions are not modelled.

Check pensionable pay

Some schemes use full basic pay; others use qualifying earnings or another definition. Copy the figure from your scheme or payslip instead of assuming the percentage applies to total salary.

Check how relief is given

Relief at source, net pay and salary sacrifice change how the deduction appears. Higher-rate relief may require a claim, while salary sacrifice can affect other calculations.
